The "missionary position" has got to be the
oldest name in the book when it comes to
sex. It is said that the name "missionary
position" is derived from people before who
witness this sex position to have been taught
by Christian missionaries as the only "proper"
sex position that will free them of guilt. Apart
from that, the term is also believed to have originated sometime between 1945 and 1965 when the term was coined by indigenous people when they first witness missionaries having sex in this position.

The missionary position has its own reasons for being so prolific. In a very intimate level, this position allows both partners to see each other and make eye contact. However, on the dark side, the missionary position can be tiring in the sense that either the man's weight is placed upon the woman or he must support his weight upon his arms and knees. Also, in this position, it can be difficult for partners to stimulate the clitoris and there is also an absence of visual stimulation, as it is difficult to see each other's bodies. However, generally, the missionary still feels so effortless and that is because our bodies just fit well that way such as that we are allowed a whole-body contact, just like whole body massage - inside and out.

The missionary position is so prolific a human sex position that it is even reputed to have also been used by bonobos as well as armadillos. In fact, 100% of married females surveyed by Alfred Kinsey in a study called Sexual Behavior in the Human Female reported using this position the most often, and only a meager 9% reported using it exclusively. However, just because the missionary is common doesn't mean that it can't be extraordinary. There are a lot of ways that you can put in some spice to the good ol’ missionary, For instance, you can let the woman add some swivel in her hips as you plunge in and out. Or you can also try what they call the Cat Position or The Soft Rock which is a non-acrobatic modified version which can still give you the romantic connection and orgasms that are more intense and intimate than ever. The magic in this method lies in what is called the coital alignment technique where the man slides two to four inches forward from the typical missionary position. This might be a little hard so add a pillow under her lower back and a couple under her head and do not hold the position for a prolonged period. Be warned though that this is not a position designed for speedy lovemaking, but for a slow and intimate encounter.

Adding further to the Missionary Position the women can keep her legs closed for added stimulation and sensations since her vagina tightens around her partner’s penis.
